I'm Greg Hayes — a full-stack engineer based in Chicago. I build modern web applications, primarily across the React and Node.js ecosystem.

Over the past several years I've worked across the full product lifecycle: from early-stage prototypes to production systems serving real users. I care about the craft — clean architecture, thoughtful UX, and code that doesn't collapse under its own weight.

What I Work With

Day-to-day I'm in Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL. I've built and maintained APIs, designed data models, stood up infrastructure on AWS and DigitalOcean, and shipped features end-to-end more times than I can count.

Beyond Code

When I'm not building, you'll find me digging into car mods, catching live music, or thinking too hard about why some software feels effortless and other software feels like fighting a blender.
