Greg Hayes

I'm Greg Hayes, an engineering leader based in Plano, Texas. I've spent about twenty years building software and the teams that ship it.

Right now I'm Director of Custom Platforms at Csquare, where I own the technical vision and execution for our platform ecosystem: customer portals, service orchestration, and the internal systems that hold it all together.

Before that I was Senior Engineering Manager at Fusionary and Director of Software Engineering at City Innovations, leading distributed teams through platform work in Angular, React, and .NET. I founded Red Eye Development in 2017. Further back: 70kft, and Fish Technologies, where I built iOS and event tech for NFC and RFID installations at some very large events.

The through line is that I like problems where the architecture and the people are the same problem.

What I Work With

Day to day I'm in TypeScript, Angular, React, and Node, with C# and .NET never far away. I've spent a lot of time in Azure and AWS, designing APIs, modeling data, and arguing about identity and auth flows. Lately a lot of my attention goes to how AI-assisted development actually changes the way a team works, which turns out to be less about the tools than people expect.

Beyond Code

When I'm not building, you'll find me digging into car mods, catching live music, or thinking too hard about why some software feels effortless and other software feels like fighting a blender.
